So. I disappeared for a while.

Why?

Fish.

No, I do not come across as crazy to you. "Fish" is not just me blabbering nonsense. For the last few days, I've been beating my head against my desk while I attempted to model a fish in 3d using Autodesk Maya, which, needless to say, is the devil. I don't know why, but the stupid program never wants to cooperate with me. It's annoying, and I'm going to end up bald by the end of this course from tugging at my hair in frustration.

FINALLY, though, I got the basic shape of the stupid thing done. Well, half of it. It's just a flat plane now, and I have to pull out the faces and whatnot to shape it, and them mirror it and TA-DER, 3D fish!

No, I'm actually not that excited. I have to model the stupid tank and shit after. You know, rocks, water... A filter. I have to model the filter, too, after modeling the stupid fish. Awesome.

Ah well. I only need a 60% in this class. I don't plan on being the person who models the nonsense. I'm either doing concept art, level design, or the story design (or whatever else.) Hell, I'll even be a programmer. I don't know if I'll do animation, yet, though.

I'm well on my way to becoming an awesome designer/developer/whateveryouwanttocallme.

Now, if you don't mind me, I'm going to attempt to not fall asleep in class.

Zzzz...

Today was perhaps one of the most useless days to date in this school year. Perhaps.

Basically, both my profs in both my classes taught us about stuff that we already knew, for the most part. Alex did ramble a bit in Concept Art, and I don't even know what Pum was going on about. Something about Skylights. But for the most part, we had about 10 minutes worth of stuff that we learned, and the rest was useless. The most productive thing I did today was pass a bunch of mini-games and puzzles in Plants vs Zombies.

Which, by the way, is a great game.

Really silly.

...But great.

I think the Gods hate me. Or maybe just Odin, I don't know.

But the Digital Animation kids somehow find a way to piss me off and annoy me even on the days when I don't see them.

Let me tell you about why I hate them. They're obnoxious, and have this feud with us for no apparent reason. This one doochebag likes to comment on everything, and make random sound effects whenever it's most unnecessary. In short, they're all assholes, douchebags, pricks, or some combination of the three, with some extra shit thrown in JUST BECAUSE.

So, why do I think the Gods hate me?

I walked into the lab/classroom around 5:20 or something like that, and I was already in a shittastic mood because public transportation here sucks something awful. So, as I said, I walked into the room, and what's the first thing I see? Mr. Doochebag Extraordinaire. He yells out a greeting and I ignore him. He comments on how I must be in a bad mood, and I ignore him. He then says he'd cheer me up and tells me some shitty joke, to which I respond, "Bite me." So he keeps talking to my buddies at the back of the room, and the only thing going through my head is the fact that I need my music to drown out his annoying voice.

Sadly, my mp3 player battery died just as I stepped foot on campus. Convenient, isn't it?

So, luckily for me, I have my handy-dandy laptop with me, with plenty of music to drown out his God-awful voice and keep me from snapping and putting a pencil in his eyeball.

Ah, hardstyle! Where would I be without you?

It is currently 9am.

On a Friday.

For those of you who have no idea who I am, let me fill you in on what you might be missing.

I have no classes on a Friday. Normally. We had Thanksgiving on Monday, so we missed two classes. One class is a 2-hour-long Concept Art class, the other is a 3-hour-long class on the Unreal Engine. Yes, I have TWO classes for the engine. Awesome, nay?

So my prof tells us to come in at 9am. WHY, WHY, WHY. I can barely keep my frickken eyes open. And the prof is telling us about some kind of markers we should get, yet he failed to tell us what kind of markers they are, or the specific name for them. Yeah, good job.

My next class is at 6pm. Yes, you heard me, 6pm. I have about 7 hours between, and it takes me an hour one-way to get home/to school. And, since the prof actually works in the industry (so you KNOW I'm learning from an experienced person and getting my $10,000 worth), he can't be here any earlier than 6. JOY. There goes my Friday night.

...At least I get to stay out all night Saturday.

*Mumbles something incoherent, possibly curses.*

So, today was a craptastic day.

Why?

Because people suck.

I went to bed all pissed off last night because Autodesk Maya doesn't like to cooperate with me. I have to model a frickken fish. A FISH. So I went to bed, and almost fell out of my bed after waking up so suddenly and jerking myself violently from a retarded dream involving my boyfriend and my Animation professor.

By the way, I also have to animate a LAMP jumping over a BOX.

So I woke up to about 1 degrees Celsius outside, and a little warmer inside, but still cold as hell. So, my crankiness continued. I left for school and the subway is just full of fail. Hobos in the corners, weird people staring at me, girls staring at me and giving me the death glare...You know, the usual.

Got to school, sat in the Game Lab to do some work. I was alone, lights were on, it was great. Some people came, but left me alone. I went about trying to model the stupid fish again. Once more, Autodesk Maya thought it would be awesome not to work. Then, my buddy comes in, and turns off the lights, so I'm staring into a computer screen in darkness, thus deteriorating my precious eyeballs, which I NEED TO SEE.

Unreal Engine class rolls by. I forgot my sketchbook. WHOOPEE.

UE3 ends. One hour to try and model a fish WHICH STILL ISN'T COOPERATING. Fail. Modelling and Texturing class time. Boring as hell, prof teaches too fast. I learn something, but said something DOESN'T WORK because MAYA SUCKS.

Class ends. Subway ride sucks because it's crowded, people keep kicking my bag with my laptop, which cost me about $900. I'm about to freak out on the guy when he gets off the subway. GOOD. I get picked up from the station by my boyfriend, who's waiting there for me with loving arms. So I complain, and I mention something that's bugging me that upsets him because it has something to do with him indirectly. We scuffle verbally for a bit, but all clears up.

It got a lot better when I hung out with him, but it was just a general epic fail of Maya screwing me over repeatedly. Not to mention UE3 crashing on me like THREE FRIGGING TIMES.

Bleh. I got class at 9am tomorrow, and 6pm (3 hour classes each, by the way) to make up for the shite we missed on monday due to thanksgiving. JOY.

Bleeeeh..

So, in my UE3 class (for those of you who have no idea as to what this is, UE3 = Unreal Engine 3) we have an assignment to create an environment. I have about a month to do this. Today, he wanted us to do the concept art and hand it in to him. Having done said concept art, I had my sketchbook sitting on my desk this morning, ready to be packed.

My awesomeness and I forgot to put the sketchbook in my bag. That is the SECOND time this has happened. In the same week.

YAY FOR EMAIL?! Hopefully very few marks will be deducted for my stupidity...

[WARNING: This post may contain offensive material concerning religion and politics. If you're gonna be an uptight doochefag, don't continue reading.]

So, Game Theory is by far my favourite class.

So we brainstormed ideas for a game as an exercise, and the theme was Halloween. So, having been divided up into groups, the professor assigned a certain aspect of game design and set us off. Luckily, or unluckily for the prof, my buddy and I got put in the same group (with two others) to come up with the story.

This is where zombie terrorists and extremist right-wing Catholics came in.

We brainstormed a lot of things, one of them was the Mujaheddin, apparently. So we came up with the idea that "Mujaheddin" was some kid, whose parents forced him to go to Terrorist school. With much reluctance, he complied, and having not liked the conventional means of terrorism, he tries to create some sort of pumpkin-bomb, since Halloween was approaching. On the day of Halloween, something goes wrong and he explodes himself, dying. His parents, not wanting to be arrested for conspiracy and all that jazz, make up some elaborate farce to cover up the truth. The kid, in the form of his soul, gets pissed off and seeks revenge against his parents.

This is where the prof told us that terrorists could not be a part of the game. Boo-urns.

So, we tried to make it a political thing. Na-ah. Then, it somehow ended up having to do with some crazy extremist right-wing catholic group who wants to get rid of Halloween. They run around killing people, 'saving' them from Halloween and the evil that comes with it. They poison the candy and put bombs in the pumpkins. The bad candy transports this kid who's trying to stop them into "Crazy Cult Land" which is basically picket fences everywhere and whatnot. The cultist have monsters and shit. It stopped making sense at about this point.

Said kid is in a ghost costume trick-or-treat'ing.

So, it then developed from the cult idea into something about the cult performing a ritual that opens up a gateway to other worlds and whatnot, bringing in monsters. Said ritual was to imbue the ghost costume or some shite. Something about the sheet absorbing powers. The kid was watching the ritual and got affected by it or something.

As we introduced it to the class and heard of what they came up with for powers and villains and heroes and settings, it started to get less silly and make somewhat more sense. The kid saw the ritual and got cursed, so now he has to round up people to find the people and kill them to get rid of the curse. They find out there's many rifts all over the place and find the first one which takes them to the crazy cultist land.

Yeah, it's messed up, but you chuckled at the idea.

I'll keep you all updated on the whole idea. Maybe I can somehow turn it into a game of some sort, ehehehe.

So, I'm not yet a GM. BUT I WILL BE.
I'll post crap about my (mis)adventures throughout my learning nonsense and my career, as well as possible random Dungeons and Dragons campaign nonsense.
W0ot. I think it's tits.
Also, I'll link shit from meh website.
Once I get it working.
